Left & Right in the directions below, mean while you are sitting on the sled.

 

To install the Plug & Play Kits on most models you simply need to remove the left Cowling above your left foot as you sit on the sled.

 

Locate the Passenger Warmer Control Relay

It is located under the Left Cowling.  (DIRECTLY above your Left foot when sitting on your sled.)

The relay will have the following 4 wires going to it:

Blue/Red  (2)

Yellow/Blue

Orange/Black

 

Unplug the Factory Control Relay.

Replace with Smart Relay.

Connect Black wire with Ring Terminal to ground bolt. 

(There is a mounting bolt usable as a ground to the upper right of the relay location at about the top of the cowling, just inside the frame.)

You will not connect ANY wires other than what is described above.

Ty-wrap new Smart Relay to Relay socket tightly.

Ty-wrap Smart Relay to sled using second Ty-wrap.

 

Testing:

Start the sled.

There is an indicator LED on the bottom of the smart relay.

The LED should be lit, if not speed up engine a bit.

The LED indicates when the battery is charging and will allow the passenger grips to function whenever the battery is charging.

 

Set Passenger Grips to High heat.

Wait a few minutes.  (3-5 min)

Grips should be getting nice & warm.

All the factory controls will work as before, with the exception that the grips will now get WARM on demand!
